I have made this wonderfully delicious tomatillo relish couple weeks and I have been using it as a dip, condiment and however I could possibly use it -now let me take the pleasure to share with you Tomatillo Relish Recipe.

I am addicted to the taste of tomatillo relish and it serves as an accompaniment or as a dip for chips, your eggs for breakfast, with meat dishes, for burgers, hot dogs …you name it..

Tomatillo Relish Recipe With Step by Step Photos..


  • Tomatillo – 200 gms, husk removed and quartered
  • Cherry tomato or plum tomato – 200 gms, diced
  • Vegetable oil -1 Tsp
  • Onion -1 medium – 1 chopped
  • Garlic -1 Tsp, chopped
  • Jalapeno pepper -1 Tsp, chopped
  • Cloves -1 1/4 Tsp
  • Sugar -1 Tsp or to taste
  • Coriander leaves -1 Tbsp, chopped
  • Apple cider vinegar -1 Tsp
  • Water -1/2 cup


  1. Heat up a thick bottomed cooking vessel and add oil.
  2. Saute cloves, onion,and garlic until onion and onion and garlic become soft.
  3. Then add jalapeño, tomatillo, cherry tomato ( I have used cherry tomato, you can use plum tomato as well) and water.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the flame to simmer and add apple cider vinegar.
  5. Continue to cook until soft, then add sugar as needed to balance the sourness or acidicity.
  6. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and cook for a minute.
  7. Remove from fire and let cool down completely.
  8. Store the Tomatillo Relish in air tight containers and use as you need.
  9. Enjoy.
