1.Heat up oil, add cloves and cardamom

2.Add ginger, garlic and chopped red chilli

3.Turmeric powder and chilly powder, cook for a minute

4.Add 1/2 cup of beef and cook over a medium flame for 2-3 minutes

6.Cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes

7.Add 1/2 basmati rice

8.Add 1 cup of water and salt

9.Add 1/2 diced potatoes and chopped coriander leaves.

10.Cover with a lid and cook until done.

  • Extra virgin olive oil- 1 Tbsp
  • Cloves – 4 each
  • Cardamom – 2 each
  • Garlic – 1/2 Tsp, chopped
  • Ginger -1/2 Tsp, chopped
  • Red chilly- 2. chopped
  • Turmeric powder -3/4 Tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Beef – 1/2 diced
  • Basmati rice – 1/2 cup
  • Potatoes- 1/2 cup, peeled and diced
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves – 1 Tbsp, chopped

  1. Before you begin cooking, make sure to prep all veggies and meat. Set aside.
  2. Heat up a pot, add oil.
  3. Add cloves and cardamom to it and let it fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Then add chopped garlic, ginger and red chilly.
  5. Let it cook for a minute.
  6. Then add turmeric and chilly powder and cook over a slow flame for a minutes.
  7. Now add diced beef and cook over a medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add 1/2 cup water to it and cover with a lid.
  9. Cook the beef for about 10 minutes and add basmati rice.
  10. Add diced potatoes, salt and chopped coriander leaves.
  11. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  12. Then reduce the flame to simmer and cover with a lid.
  13. Cook until done, this should take about 16-18 minutes.
  14. Once done, remove the cover and using the back side of a spoon mix slowly to combine.
  15. Serve hot. Enjoy!
