Guess what! Have you ever thought about the most easiest chicken curry ever? here is the answer-Yoghurt Chicken/ Dahi Chicken. Today I am sharing with you all one of the easiest, very delicious and healthy chicken curry which can be made in no time.

Yoghurt Chicken/ Dahi Chicken

This butter-soft Yoghurt Chicken/ Dahi Chicken  is made with chicken marinated in turmeric powder, chilly powder, garam masala, gingergarlic paste, yoghurt and then slow cooked to cooked to perfection.

I have marinated the chicken and let sit overnight, which I recommend everyone to follow as the yoghurt makes the chicken tender and also let the chicken absorb the spices very well. Well, if you can’t overnight, at least let the chicken sit in the marination for 2 hours.

I have not used any oil in this recipe and the recipe is so simple that even a newbie can make it. I hope you will enjoy this recipe and do drop me your thoughts in the comment section below.

1.Marinate the chicken with powdered spices and yogurt..

2.Heat up the skillet and add marinated chicken..

3.Cook the chicken a slow flame..

4.Cook until fat from the starts to release..Yoghurt Chicken/ Dahi Chicken

5. Now add and curry leaves, cook for another 5 minutes..

6.Adjust the seasoning and cook until the desired consistency is achieved..

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast – 500 gms, diced
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Turmeric -3/4 Tsp
  • Chilly powder -1/2 Tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 Tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water -1 cup
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig

Directions

  1. Marinate the chicken with yoghurt, turmeric, chilly powder, garam masala and gingergarlic paste.
  2. Let it sit overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. When you are ready to cook, heat up the skillet and add marinated chicken.
  4. Cook the chicken on a slow fire.
  5. Make sure to stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
  6. Let it cook for 15 minutes and then when the chicken is almost done, add water and let it cook for another 5 more minutes.
  7. Finish with curry leaves.
  8. Dish out and serve hot. Goes very well with rice.
