There is no better way than kick starting your day with this wonderful and nutritious Quinoa & Berries Porridge. A very easy and simple recipe by boiling quinoa in milk and finishing it with sugar and berries.

I have used strawberries, blueberries and white currants but you can add in any berries of your choice to make it tasty and colorful.

Quinoa & Berries Porridge Recipe with step by step pictures

Ingredients

  • Quinoa – 1 cup
  • Milk – 2 cup
  • Sugar to taste
  • Strawberries – 1/2 cup, quartered
  • Blueberries- 1/2 cup
  • White currants- 2 Tbsp

Directions

  1. Rinse quinoa under cold running water..
  2. Drain and let it dry.
  3. In a pot, take quinoa and milk and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the flame to slow and let it simmer until cooked
  5. This should take about 18-20 minutes.
  6. When quinoa is tender (cooked through) add sugar.
  7. You may add adjust the quantity of sugar as per your taste.
  8. Remove from the fire and the berries.
  9. Give a very good mixing, and dish out.
  10. Garnish with berries and serve.

Note: It’s very important that you add sugar after the quinoa is fully cooked, adding the sugar before hand  may prevent quinoa from cooking well.

Measure the porridge in a cup and make sure to add double the quantity of milk for cooking..
