Paneer Masala

Paneer cubes are cooked in a rich tomato gravy and finished with a touch of cream.


  • Paneer – 500 gms, cubes
  • Oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic – 5 cloves, crushed
  • Garlic – 1 Tsp, crushed
  • Tomato – 4 medium, chopped
  • Turmeric – 1/2 Tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Garam masala – 2 Tbsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 Tbsp
  • Fresh cream – 50 ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar one pinch
  • Water as needed


  1. In a medium sized, thick bottomed container, heat oil and fry the paneer till golden brown and remove.
  2. Add cumin seeds and onion to the same oil and saute.
  3. Add garlic and ginger to it and saute.
  4. Add powdered spices such as turmeric, chilly, cumin, garama masala and coriander powder.
  5. Saute until the raw flavor goes off.
  6. Add tomatoes to it. Cook till soft.
  7. Add water and cook on slow fire for 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from the fire, let it cool down and blend to smooth consistency.
  9. Bring the tomato gravy back to fire and add cream to it.
  10. Add fried paneer and mix well.Adjust seasoning.
  11. Your paneer masala is ready now.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy.
