Pan Roasted Masala Green Beans

Green beans are slow roasted in the pan with powdered spices, onion and garlic to perfection.

  • Green beans – 600 gms
  • Oil- 1 Tbsp
  • Onion – 150 gms
  • Green chilly- 2 each
  • Mustard seeds – 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1/2 Tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1 Tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper


  1. Clean and cut the green beans.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet,splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Saute onion, add powdered spices, cook for a couple of minutes.
  4. Add green beans and sprinkle some water.
  5. Cover the lid and cook for couple of minutes.
  6. Remove the cover and continue to cook on slow flame.
  7. Adjust seasoning.
  8. Finish with a tiny sprinkle of garam masala and serve hot.
