Onion, Tomato and Cucumber Salad

Should yo eat salad during your meal? or Should you not eat salad at all?

This has been a topic  for argument or discussion for a very long time.  Well, I don’t want to comment on it at the moment and  let’s just focus on the benefits of eating salad during the meal. Salad is a must and you should always include salad especially when you eat fried any item. Salad  helps in digestion, helps controlling body weight and helps to lower the cholesterol level.

This simple onion, cucumber and tomato salad can be eaten on side with the main course or can be eaten as a main course as well. If you are having any fried item as your main course such as fried chicken or fried fish, then you should definitely try this simple salad.


  • Onion – 2 medium, medium diced
  • Tomato– 2  medium, medium diced
  • Cucumber – 1, diced
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon – 2, juiced
  • Chaat masala- 1/2 Tsp (optional)


  1. Cut onion, tomato and cucumber (deseeded) into medium sized dices.
  2. Take all the ingredients in bowl and mix well.
  3. Chaat masala is optional as some of you may find it spicy and tangy.
  4. Serve together with main course.
