There is something unquestionably great about Neymeen Fry/ Seer Fish Fry. The taste of a perfectly fried neymeen fish is definitely a sensual experience. The taste and flavor of neymeen fry is not that easy to forget.

Neymeen  is marinated with powdered spices, gingergarlic paste , freshly ground black pepper, lemon juice and then shallow fried. Neymeen Fry/ Seer Fish Fry recipe is very simple and easy to make.  Marination is the key to get a superbly falvored neymeen fry. Fish needs to be marinated well in advance so that spices go deep inside the fish, making it tender and flavorful. Shallow frying is the best way to fry neymeen.

To make the Neymeen Fry/ Seer Fish Fry more enjoyable, I have added curry leaves and garlic cloves while frying. Fry the garlic cloves and curry leaves together with the fish and serve . Neymeen Fry/ Seer Fish Fry Recipe with step wise pictures..

Ingredients

  • Neymeen / Seer Fish – 500 gms, big dices
  • Turmeric – 1 Tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1 Tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Gingergarlic paste- 1 Tbsp
  • Lemon juice – Tbsp
  • Garlic – 10 cloves
  • Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon slices
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. Clean, wash and cut the fish.
  2. Cut into big dices (as shown the picture)
  3. To make the marinade, mix together powdered spices, lemon juice, gingergarlic paste, 1 tbsp. of oil and salt.
  4. Apply the marinade very well on both the side.
  5. Refrigerate the fish for 30 minutes before frying.
  6. Heat oil, slowly add the fish in to the oil.
  7. Add garlic (with the skin) and curry leaves to the oil as well.
  8. When the first side done, flip over and fry the other side as well.
  9. Serve hot garnished with garlic, curry leaves  and lemon slices.

 

Clean, wash and cut the fish.

Marinate the fish and rest for 30 minutes inside the refrigerator before frying..

    Tried this one…. the marination mix is very homely n easy..
    It was best with boiled rice n yogurt..
