Salad is a must and you should always include salad especially when you eat fried any item. Salad  helps in digestion, helps controlling body weight and helps to lower the cholesterol leve

This simple mixed beans salad with coconut can be eaten on side with the main course or can be eaten as a main course as well. If you are having any fried item as your main course such as fried chicken or fried fish, then you should definitely try this simple salad.   • Onion – 2 medium,  diced
  • Tomato– 2  medium, diced
  • Cucumber – 1, diced
  • Green chilly – 2 each, chopped
  • Chick peas- 100 gms, cooked
  • Kidney beans-100 gms, cooked
  • White beans – 100 gms, cooked
  • Salt to taste
  • Chat Masala – 1Tsp
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon – 2, juiced
  • Pepper corns – 1 Tsp
  • Olive oil – 100ml
  • Mint leaves as needed


  1. Cut onion, tomato and cucumber (deseeded) into medium sized dices.
  2. Take all the ingredients in bowl and mix well.
  3. Chaat masala is optional as some of you may find it spicy and tangy.
  4. If you do not like your salad to be spicy, you can skip chilly completely or use in moderation.
  5. To make the dressing :-combine lemon juice, salt, freshly ground black pepper and slowly whisk in the olive oil.
  6. Serve garnished with mint leaves.
