Masala Omelette Sanwich

Masala omelette sandwich is a great way to start your day and it can be served for breakfast or as an appetizer or as a tea-time sandwich too. Make an omelette spiced up with Indian spices and then make a sandwich with bread slices and a thin spread of butter- yummy!

  • Whole eggs – 4
  • Bread slices – 4 each, white or brown
  • Butter – 5o gms
  • Milk – 1 Tbsp
  • Onion – 1 medium, diced
  • Tomato – 1 = medium, diced
  • Green chilly – 2 pcs
  • Coriander leaves – 1 Tbsp
  • Black pepperĀ  crushed
  • Salt to taste


  1. Take a small bowl and crack eggs into it.
  2. Add a Tablespoon of milk and beat the egg with a fork.
  3. Just before cooking the egg, add onion, tomato, green chilly, salt, black pepper and coriander chopped and mix well
  4. Heat a skillet over low heat, add half of butter and let it melt.
  5. Now add the beaten egg into the heated skillet.
  6. Let it cook on a slow fire to make sure there is no runny center.
  7. When the omelette is starting to firm up, use a spatula to slowly scrap off the side of the omelette from the pan.
  8. Slowly flip over the omelette with the spatula and cook the other side as well.
  9. Remove the pan and set aside.
  10. To make the sandwich- first, cut the omelette into four.
  11. Take four bread slices, spread the butter over the top.
  12. Put the omelette over the bread and cover with the other slice.
  13. On a slow fire , cook the the sandwich on either side to give a nice golden brown color.
  14. remove from the skillet, trim off the side, cut lengthwise into half.
  15. Put one on top of the other and give it a gentle press.
  16. Use a tooth to holdĀ  the sandwich together as shown in the photo and serve.

Note: If you serving it as a breakfast sandwich then cut them into triangles and serve with chutney or ketchup.
