No that long ago, a friend of mine has made me a Masala Fried Salmon and it was super delicious, today let me replicate the same recipe and show you How To Make Masala Fried Salmon.

Salmon Masla Fry is made with salmon marinated in gingergarlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chilly powder and  salt, then shallow fried in oil.

The soft, juicy, succulent masala fried salmon is good for lunch or dinner. I had it for lunch with onion salad and it was super tasty.

A very easy and simple to make dish- marinate the salmon, let it in the marination for 30 minutes and then shallow fry it. I have added some curry leaves and crushed garlic cloves towards the end of frying to add extra flavor and kick to the dish. This has really worked out very well and the extra garlic and curry leaves flavors has really complimented each other.

1.Marinate salmon with turmeric,chilly powder, cumin powder, gingergarlic and salt. let it sit in the marinade for 30 minutes.

2. Heat oil in skillet and slowly place salmon one at a time..

3. When it is golden brown in color, flip and cook the other side.

4. Add curry leaves and crushed garlic.

5. Flip the salmon one more time make sure that both the sides are crispy..How To Make Masala Fried Salmon

6.Remove and fry the skillet to a clean towel to remove the excess oil and serve hot.

Ingredients

  • Salmon – 500 gms, skinless
  • Turmeric– 1 Tsp
  • Chilly powder – 1 Tsp
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 Tsp
  • Ginger paste – 1 Tsp
  • Garlic paste -1 Tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed Garlic cloves – 6 each
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Onion – 2 sliced for salad
  • Lemon wedge as needed

Directions

  1. Cut salmon into medium sized pieces (as shown in the photo).
  2. Marinate the salmon pieces with turmeric, chilly powder, gingergarlic paste, cumin powder and salt.
  3. Let the salmon sit in the marinade for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat up oil in a skillet and slowly place the salmon pieces.
  5. Add one piece at a time until all the pieces are added.
  6. Cook one side, flip and cook the other side.
  7. Now add crushed garlic and curry leaves.
  8. Make sure to keep the flame on medium and the outside is crispy.
  9. When cooked, remove the salmon to napkin to take out the excess oil.
  10. Serve salmon with sliced onion and lemon wedge.
