Golden Milk / Turmeric Milk/ Haldi Doodh is a healthy and refreshing drinks originated in India and has been in use since ages, made with fresh milk, turmeric powder and freshly ground black pepper.

I have very fond childhood memories of turmeric milk.Whenever I got cold, flu or I hurt myself or whenever I feel down, my mom or grandma will bethere with a glass of turmeric milk insisting me to drink. To be honest with you, I did not like it at all and the little did I know about the health benefits  of turmeric back then. You know what I hated to the most, a glass of warm turmeric milk before going to bed every night. But, now I realise how important was those rituals to lay the foundation of good health I have today.

Turmeric is one of those spices which become quite a sensation in this modern world, thanks to its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidants rich and healing benefits. Turmeric has been in use since ages in India, ancient medical practitioners and a key ingredient in Ayurvedic medicines.

Turmeric, widely known as ‘the queen of spices’ is a must spice in every Indian household. I can’t do without turmeric and so as everyone else. Most of the curry dishes call for turmeric in the recipe and I tend use turmeric everywhere (not kidding, I tell you I am obsessed with turmeric).
