Amla and Ginger Juice/ Indian Gooseberry and Ginger Juice

Indian Gooseberry  is commonly called as Amla. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years.

Amla has got a lot health benefits, such as it used for high cholesterol, diabetes, pain and swelling of pancreas, cancer, stomach-upset and so on…

Amla is used widely in cooking as well-Amla pickles, jam , etc. Pickle is the most famous.

There is nothing like taking a glass of gooseberry juice on a daily basis- Amla/ Gooseberry is a rich source of Iron and Vitamins, helps digestion and prevents hair fall and from whitening.

1 Kg of Amla gives about 650-700 ml of juice.


  • 1kg Gooseberry/Amla
  • 2 Tbsp  Mint leaves
  • Ginger – 2 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste (optional)
  • Honey or Black Salt(optional)
  • Water enough to blend.


  1. Remove seeds and cut into small pieces.
  2. In a juice mixer, add gooseberry, mint leaves and jut enough water to help blending.
  3. Add cut gooseberry in batches to ease blending.
  4. Start the mixer on a slow speed and gradually increase the speed.
  5. Grind it to a fine paste.
  6. Sieve through a strainer.
  7. Press using a spoon to get the maximum juice.
  8. Repeat the process until  all the pieces are used up.
  9. Juice can be refrigerated for a week.
  10. If you are refrigerating, add honey or salt of your choice just before consuming.
